• • MITTON CAVITATION

Portable, scalable, and easily integrated into existing wastewater treatment systems, the automated Mitton Cavitation Reactor (MCR) system exploits a nominal amount of kinetic energy to generate a field of cavitation that does the heavy lifting at the microscopic level. From altering chemical bonds and generating hydroxyl radicals to breaking emulsions and separating oils and suspended solids from water, finally harnessing and applying the destructive force of cavitation — just as we harnessed and applied wind, electricity or the atom — represents the dawn of a new industrial era.

    • WESSUC, Inc.

In the spring of 2005, Wessuc was awarded a 3-year contract with the Region of Durham to manage the cleaning of three lagoons at the Nonquon treatment facility just outside of Port Perry. The Nonquon River WPCP is a seasonal discharge aerated lagoon system. It consists of six (6) storage cells and two smaller aerated cells. The lagoons discharge continuously to the Nonquon River from October 15 to May 15. During the spring and summer, the discharge to the river is stopped and sewage is stored in the lagoons.

  • • GREEN CARBON NEXUS

The 1979 energy crisis was the end cheap farm energy and caused my Irrigation Products business to shut down. Next phase, I established Energy Production (EP) as a consultant and partnered with Sandi's Secretarial Service in Chico CA for administration support. We combined the two and formed Energy Production LP in 1982. About that time, we were approached by George Hrubi to help develop his 40 acres Eucalyptus Tree Farm with the vision we both had about the future of Biomass for "Renewable Energy" crops. George established a seedling nursery under Energy Resource Development (ERD). The rest is history!

The California Biomass Atlas will spotlight some businesses and biomass processing systems case studies and outline present projects in progress. GCN & ABT collaboration have evolved into the last of original 1980's pioneers.

  • • HAGO ENERGETICS

Hago was selected to be one of the 28 early-stage clean energy companies. Hago Energetics, Inc. aims to help farms become more profitable by converting farm waste to high-value products, such as hydrogen and valuable carbons. They break down organic matter, such as food scraps and animal waste, in conditions with no oxygen to produce a biogas that is later decomposed to hydrogen and carbon; this hydrogen is expected to sell at a lower cost and lower carbon footprint than the current methods.

    • NEXTCHAR

NextChar will be the first industrial scale manufacturer of biochar using their own proprietary pyrolysis technology. Their technology is designed specifically for the production of consistently high-quality biochar and heat-energy. There is a limited supply of superior quality biochar, being produced on retrofitted equipment, and sold by knowledgeable brokers to discerning customers. The gap between supply and demand remains great however, and it is into this market divide NextChar is entering.

    • PROTON POWER

Proton Power, Inc. (PPI) has developed a proprietary, patent-protected, clean energy system for the cost-effective conversion of a wide variety of biomass feedstocks into synthetic fuel or electricity. In addition, PPI systems produce a high quality, semi-activated carbon biochar product with valuable agricultural and industrial applications. And an exciting recent development is the ability to produce graphene in significant quantities. PPI systems are financially viable at a relatively small scale, making them easy to locate close to feedstock supply. The process saves businesses on capital and production costs and promises a greener tomorrow. Very simply, PPI is able to provide safe, viable, sustainable energy solutions that make business sense.

    • NuFUELS

Specializing in hydrogen from biochar, NuFuels provides guidance for companies seeking to create green hydrogen.

  • • RADIANT PANEL TECHNOLOGIES

RPT’s proprietary radiant heat technology uses a proprietary nanotechnology resistive ink that can be bonded to a variety of surfaces for a myriad of applications and can be patterned or modified to perfect its performance to your specifications. They are a USA company that develops and markets new and proprietary radiant panel products and adapts them to applications in Global markets. The products are then expanded and branded. These panelized heating products may be integrated into a wide variety of applications.

    • BYBLOCK BUILDING MATERIAL

Founded in 2017, ByFusion Global, Inc. was born from the belief that Earth is our most valuable and precious resource. One of the planet’s biggest challenges is the devastating mismanagement of plastic waste, setting the foundation for our vision as an innovative leader with a sustainable solution to the global crisis.

Plastic is strong, flexible, and built to last. It has limitless applications and shouldn’t be a single-use item destined for crowded landfills, harmful marine debris, or toxic incineration. Plastic as a material isn’t the problem; it’s the lack of planning for its lifecycle. We need to reshape the future of plastic waste.

After years of development for industrial mass production, our patent pending Micro Diversion Platform (MDP) can consistently convert all types of plastic waste into a high-performing, advanced building material called ByBlock®. ByBlock® enables neighborhoods, corporations, and governments to put their plastic waste to work in their local communities while cleaning up the planet. The ByFusion MDP can create jobs, improve infrastructure, and revitalize neighborhoods based on localized needs. Working together, we can be the change that ensures a cleaner, more sustainable planet for future generations.

  • • HEALTHY HONEY BEES

Since 2006, honeybees have been plagued by Colony Collapse Disorder. Of the many factors that contribute to this assault on pollinators, the worst is the parasitic mite Varroa destructor, and the 28+ viruses that it spreads.

Without getting too bee-nerdy, we raise honeybees from the USDA’s Pol-line breeding program. These bees detect varroa infestation in brood cells and perform operations that disrupt the lifecycle of the mite. The beauty of this is that it (1) eliminates the need for poisonous chemicals, (2) is a natural hygienic trait, which (3) can be passed on by male bees to mating queens. We also manipulate their hives to promote swarming, the natural process whereby one hive can produce several new feral hives.

As an inadvertent consequence of raising healthy honeybees, we annually harvest over 700 pounds of non-monocrop honey from our four sites in Contra Costa County. The honey is triple filtered at room temperature and, unlike standard industry practice, we do not heat-treat the honey to prevent crystallization as this denatures the esters in the honey which give honey its distinctive flavors.
